Dear Ex Students,

We are having our reunion of all batches on 5th Jan 2014 between 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. (with lunch) @ Rs350/- per head.

The Managing Committee requests all ex students to try and make it for the reunion where even our retired teachers will be present. It will be a grand opportunity for each one of you to once again meet up with your collegues and teachers and share with each other all that has been happening in so many years.

We promise u a wonderful day on 5th with alot of music, dancing and games.

P.S. Please be on time i.e. 11a.m. as we will be beginning with a game of housie.

~Feast Day - 8th May~
St. Madgalene of Canossa (1774~1835) was an Italian nun. She was born to a Veronese Family. Her father died when she was 5 years old and her mother abandoned her in 1781 to marry another man. In 1791, she spent time in a Carmelite cloister but decided this was not her vocation.

In 1808, she began charitable work in Verona and in 1828 set up the Institute of the Daughters of Charity. She was beatified on December 8th, 1941 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II on October 2nd, 1988.

~Feast Day - 8th February~
Saint Josephine Bakhita was a young Sudanese girl sold into slavery where she experienced the humiliations and the sufferings of slavery, physical, mental and moral. She was brought to Italy where, while serving as a nanny, she was sent to live with the Canossian Sisters of the Institute of the Catechumens in Venice. Bakhita, which means “fortunate one,” is the name given her by her kidnappers. There she was baptized, and, having reached majority age, was granted her freedom by Italian law.

In 1896 she joined the Canossian Daughters of Charity where she served humbly for the next twenty five years. She died after a long and painful illness. On May 17, 1992, Josephine Bakhita was beatified by Pope John Paul II. She was proclaimed Saint on October 1, in the Jubilee year 2000.

Since then, St. Josephine Bakhita, our very own Canossian, has been interceding for many, especially those who are sick, those who are in any form of slavery and those who need to find peace, forgiveness and reconciliation in their lives.

If you know of someone who needs this kind of powerful intercessor, why not ask her?

The Ex-Student's Association of Canossa was established on the 4th of November, 2007, with the vision to bring together all the alumni of Canossa High School, Mahim. We hope that through this Association, we can reconnect with our school and our schoolmates and so live up to our motto, "Strengthening the bond we share."
